Description
Regency era dress of gauzy fine white cotton lawn. Completely hand sewn, with hand embroidery around hem and sleeves. Skirt is longer in back. Short puff sleeves, empire waist gathered at back. No waistline at front and neckline is not attached.
Additional Information
This dress was worn by Mrs. Wm. Street (great great grandmother of donors), who, with her husband and family came to Canada in 1832. Her daughter, Agatha Georgina, married Rev. M.Y. Stark in 1835. Rev. Mark Young Stark was the first Presbyterian Minister in Dundas.
