Item consists of a black and white photograph depicting a family portrait in a garden. On verso, there is a separate photograph attached (3935.002) of a five individuals with the title "Our Life Savers."

Verso consists of a black and white photograph of a collage of portraits of individuals with heroic honours. It is titled "Our Life Savers" and is affixed to the back of 3935.001 with corner mounts.

From left to right: Elwood Hughes "who gallantly saved from drowning Aubrey Might of Brampton at Grimsby Park, August 16 1896 and was publicly presented by Mayor T.A. Wardell of Dundas on February 16, 1897 with the bronze medal awarded by the Royal Canadian Humane Society. "Trust in the Lord and Do Good."
George Turnbull "who gallantly saved from drowning Alex Spence of Westover at Dundas, June 8th 1906, and was publicly presented by Mayor J.W. Dickson of Dundas on December 14th, 1906 with the bronze medal awarded by the Royal Canadian Humane Society. "Greater Love Hath No Man Than This."
Herold Stonehouse "who gallantly saved from drowning George Elwood Howell of Jerseyville at Y.M.C.A. Camp, Middleport, July 22, 1923 and was publicly presented by Messrs. Bain, Coppley, Eastwood and Waterman of Hamilton on October 21st, 1925 with the bronze medal awarded by the Royal Canadian Humane Society. "I Gave Myself to Thee."
Dorothy Davidson "who courageously saved the lives of four persons in a burning gasoline launch on the Indian River, Muskoka, July 2, 1926. "She Hath Done What She Could."
John W. Pennington "who gallantly saved from drowning George Hillier of Dundas, at McMurray Street Bridge, August 24th, 1929 and was publicly presented by Messrs. H.E. Waterman and H.E. McLaren of Hamilton on December 11th, 1931 with the certificate awarded by the Royal Canadian Humane Society. "Be Ye Also Ready."
