Opened and endowed October 30, 1909, by Sir Edmund Osler, fourth son of Rev. F.L. Osler of St. James Anglican Church, and Ellen Tree Pickton, his wife, who lived to the age of 101. Their children were: Chief Justice, Hon. Fetherstone Osler; Sir Edmund, a Toronto Financier; Sir William, a famed doctor; Briton Bath, a lawyer; Edward Lake Osler; Francis L; Mrs. Williamson; and Mrs. H. G. Gwyn.
